Bishop Thomas Bickerton, in his email sent to clergy and laity on Friday May 8, 2020, said that our churches will remain closed at least through the end of May. Read the State of the New York Annual Conference Message. Based on the Bishop's directive, worship services in the sanctuary are cancelled and all buildings of the Commack United Methodist will remain closed through 5/31/2020.
Please call the church office for details or if you have any questions.
Church buildings will remain closed and there will be no worship services in the sanctuary through May 21, 2020 because of the COVID-19 situation. The email from Bishop Thomas Bickerton says: "We will continue to take our lead from the decisions made by our state government officials. Governor Cuomo of New York has extended his stay at home order until May 15th. Governor Lamont of Connecticut has extended his until May 20th. For that reason, our churches will remain closed through May 24th at the earliest. I know that this is difficult. But we must stay the course and continue to remain focused. We all will be tempted by reports coming from other parts of the country where restrictions will be significantly reduced and eliminated."
